Lakefront Park

Lakefront Park is the eastern most on Canandaigua’s north shoreline

Canandaigua’s eastern-most park on the north shore is called Lakefront Park. Visitors might assume that Lakefront Park is part of Kershaw Park but it’s technically it’s a separate park.

Lakefront Park has a public dock donated to the City of Canandaigua.

Lakefront Park is also the place where the Canandaigua Lady paddle wheeler is berthed. Here’s how it looks while docked:

For several decades, Roseland Park amusement rides operated on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake. As a child, I enjoyed this ride over the lake:

After Roseland closed, developers purchased the land to build a hotel complex, called the Finger Lakes Resort. Once completed, it will consist of a hotel, restaurant, condominiums and conference center:

The City of Canandaigua bought two surplus parcels from the developer, resulting in the creation of Lakefront Park and Lagoon Park.
